Roots Dance Studio was founded in August of 2018 by Ellie Fant. Our studio teaches a wide variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical, and more! We aim to offer classes that not only teach proper technique and muscle training for each style, but we also instill in our students the value of practice, commitment, hard work, and overcoming challenges. We believe that dance teaches more than just movements and the lessons learned in our classes can be taken beyond our studio walls.
Roots Dance studio is a studio of expression and energy, not competition and comparisons. We believe dancing is a hobby and a life skill and should not be a stressor for any student or parent that walks into our studio. We believe that movement and learning is what is truly important when it comes to a dance class.
Roots Dance Studio is proudly Shomer Shabbat and is not open on Shabbat or any other Jewish holiday.

Ellie Fant

Owner, CEO

Since beginning ballet at age 5, Ellie has expanded her dance experience from ballet to jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. Ellie has studied at many world-renown dance schools including the Joffrey Ballet School in both Chicago and New York City as well as the Juilliard School. Ellie has been choreographing all kinds of styles of dances for high schools, university performances, and charity organizations.

Ellie has been teaching for nearly 7 years and she hopes this studio will be her first of many. When Ellie is not teaching at Roots, she loves relaxing and eating pizza.

Shuli Frier

Office Manager

Shuli is currently a senior at KYHS in Boca Raton and takes hip hop and ballet here at RDS! When Shuli isn't in classes, she's manning our front desk, here to answer any questions you may have regarding classes, schedules, recital, she manages everything here.

Shuli also teaches ballet and hip hop to our younger students when we need a substitute instructor and hopefully will teach more classes in the future.

Shuli always greets every dancer that walks through the door with a smile and is always ready to help parents and dancers with whatever they need.

Emma Hapca

Ballet Apprentice

Emma Hapca is a current senior at Archbishop McCarthy high school and has been dancing for over six years. She has been dancing at RDS since it first opened in 2018 and trained under Miss Ellie as a ballet apprentice for 2 years.
Emma is a kind and subtle instructor that focuses on strength and stability in her ballet classes. Be sure to check out what classes she'll be teaching this year at RDS!
When Emma is out of the studio, she can be found creating art or making sushi, sometimes both!
