Roots Dance Studio was founded in August of 2018 by Ellie Fant. Our studio teaches a wide variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical, and more! We aim to offer classes that not only teach proper technique and muscle training for each style, but we also instill in our students the value of practice, commitment, hard work, and overcoming challenges. We believe that dance teaches more than just movements and the lessons learned in our classes can be taken beyond our studio walls.
Roots Dance studio is a studio of expression and energy, not competition and comparisons. We believe dancing is a hobby and a life skill and should not be a stressor for any student or parent that walks into our studio. We believe that movement and learning is what is truly important when it comes to a dance class.
Roots Dance Studio is proudly Shomer Shabbat and is not open on Shabbat or any other Jewish holiday.
Intermediate and Advanced Instructor
Since beginning ballet at age 5, Ellie has expanded her dance experience from ballet to jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. Ellie has studied at many world-renown dance schools including the Joffrey Ballet School in both Chicago and New York City as well as the Juilliard School. She opened RDS in the summer of 2018 and has been dedicated to creating a safe and healthy space for all dancers of all walks of life to come and express themselves in any and all styles of dance.
Ellie has been teaching for nearly 7 years and she hopes this studio will be her first of many. When Ellie is not teaching at Roots, she loves chilling at the beach and eating pizza.

She is now a professional dancer and has performed with major artists such as Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Karol G, Ozuna, Akon, and more! Miss Kamille has performed in award shows around the US, on National and International TV, as well as on music videos! She just recently came back from filming World of Dance season 4 in LA! She also owns her own dance entertainment company where I choreograph for different events such as birthday parties, Bat/Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, music videos, local events and more! Dance is her passion and getting to teach the younger generation has always been her favorite because she gets to watch them learn, be active, grow, and HAVE FUN!

Miss Emma has experience is aerial silks and is a skilled pianist and musician.
Emma is a sweet and subtle instructor that focuses on strength and stability in her ballet classes. Her poise and posture show in her calm composure and kindness towards her students.
When Emma is out of the studio, she can be found creating art or making sushi, sometimes both!
Ali is currently a sophomore at Hebrew Academy in Miami Beach. She has had a passion for dance for as long as she can remember. After being one of the first to participate in the Camp Mesorah and RDS collaboration, she spent all summer in the studio and has made it a major part of her life ever since.
Ali has developed a strong love for all forms of dance such as lyrical, jazz, and contemporary, but her main expertise lies in hip hop and creating choreography.
Outside of the studio she enjoys many other forms of artistic expression such as writing, art, and music. Having a good time and making memories is so important to her, but working hard is equally valued. These overlapping focuses give her the perfect energy for the studio! Her innate ability to look for inspiration in every day life helps her motivate others to make the most of their time in class.
